This one hour class is suitable for beginners or anyone wanting to improve their practice, after all Yoga is for everyone.
We'll follow the seasonal yoga calendar and we'll work what's going on in nature to help you feel more in tune with the seasons and the time of year.
As we flow through the postures I'll break them down, show you how to get in and out of the pose, the breath and explain how it should feel. We'll do this as we steadily flow through a series of asanas aka postures which will build strength and flexibility and ease the tension.
Breathing exercises along with meditation techniques will help ease you relax and get set for the week ahead. I use props and offer modifications should you need them.
These classes are held in person in the Malachite Studio at The Loft, 154a Main Street, Cambuslang - a beautiful wellness space which brings a great energy to the classes.

Yin Yoga is softer, meditative and can help to increase flexibility and flow of energy flow. Imagine practicing this relaxing type of yoga on a bamboo, heated floor at Prana Yoga, a boutique yoga studio in Hamilton.
This class is slower and we'll hold these passive, more floor based poses for longer. The mind and body will soften, relax and release deeply held stress and tension in the body. We will use the asanas to target specific muscles, organs and meridians (energy lines) whist still following the Seasonal Yoga patterns to create harmony and balance within us. This class is a midweek restorative treat for the mind and body.
This class is suitable for yogis who attend a class regularly and beginners who want to work deeper in to their bodies. Runners, cyclists and those who go to the gym regularly would also benefit from this type of class - its the yin to your yang!
The class is an hour long and starts at 7.15p.m. It's recommended you bring your own mat. Props are provided and you are welcome to bring your own.
You can also join ONLINE via zoom and you would benefit from having bolsters and blocks at home.

This six week course of 45 minute classes will take your through the postures that are commonly used in a yoga class and show you how to do them, how to get into them that best suits you and how to breathe.
We'll cover the sitting, standing and floor based poses. The breath is important too and we'll cover that too.

Mark the end of the week with me for some mindful movement to help ease and stretch the body and relax the mind. Everyone, of any ability, is welcome to join this class that will combine Yoga, Qi Gong (similar to Tai Chi), Chair Yoga, meditation and pranayama, aka breathwork, sprinkled with fun and laughter. You'll leave refreshed and relaxed.
These classes will be seasonally themed and what better place to practice than in nature itself, as the classes overlook the beautiful Blantyre landscape in the grounds of the David Livingstone Centre. Please wear something that you can move in freely and comfortably and bring along your yoga mat, a drink of water and a blanket if you want some extra warmth during the relaxation.

As the sun sets over the beautiful Lanarkshire countryside side, enjoy a relaxing stretch to ease you into the weekend at The Wellness Boutique. The next one takes place on Friday 19th July, 6.30 - 8.30pm.

The two hour session starts with a grounding breath practice before releasing tension in the whole body. A meditation or yoga nidra will round off our time together as the sun sets and the weekend stretches out in front of you.
