This Wee Winter Retreat is some time for you away from your day to day challenges and routine.
The morning includes a mindful movement yoga class with the intention of relieving tension and anxiety that can creep in during these cooler, slower months. The slower, flowy movements will help to release our fascia and relax the nervous system. Accompanied by a breathing practice and then a body scan meditation which will then set you up for a sound healing session.
The soothing sounds of the crystal sound bowls, gongs, drums and various other instruments will help to soothe the body and mind. A soundbath uses the different vibrations of the instruments and their various tones to encourage a further sense of ease in body, mind and spirit. Sound is the sense that is associated with Winter too.
All this set in nature in the beautiful surroundings of David Livingstone Birthplace, Blantyre. Look up to the sky through the skylight as you’re bathed in natural light and see the trees and winters' evergreens that wrap around the room.
Rounded off with a warming refreshment, some comforting sustenance (included in the price)and a chat; a self care Saturday morning just for you.
Please bring your own mat, a blanket and possibly a cushion (for the sound bath).

Enjoy a relaxing stretch to ease you into the weekend by the soft light of the candles at The Wellness Boutique.
Yin yoga is slow - the antidote to our busyness. Find comfort and ease in your body that you might not have experienced before as we marinate and luxuriate in the poses.
It’s suitable for everyone from complete beginner to the experienced yogi.
This type of yoga is softer, meditative and can help to increase flexibility and flow of energy flow. This class is slower and we'll hold these passive, more floor based poses for longer. The mind and body will soften, relax and release deeply held stress and tension in the body. We'll also uses the asanas to target specific muscles, organs and meridians (energy lines).
The two hour session starts with a grounding breath practice before releasing tension in the whole body. A meditation or yoga nidra will round off our time together as the gentle light of the candles burns away any negative energy as the weekend stretches out in front of you.
Mats and props are provided and you are welcome to bring your own. Please bring a blanket.
You time is a must, this investment in your self care is £25.
